With just days until school is back in session, St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Perry finds itself without a principal.

Thursday evening the announcement came down that Principal Eddie Diaz would not be the school’s principal anymore. At this point in time it’s unknown what the reasons were for the change, nor is it known how St. Pat’s will take on hiring a new principal. Anne Marie Cox, Director of Communications and Public Relations with the Des Moines Diocese told Raccoon Valley Radio, “Because this is a personnel matter, we cannot comment on the situation. We thank Mr. Diaz for his service, and wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Diaz was preparing to enter his second year in the position. The new school year at St. Pat’s will commence Wednesday. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring more information as it’s made official.
