Today is the final day of the 2017 Dallas County Fair, though there’s no shortage of activities.
The day kicks off with the 4-H/FFA dog show at 8:30 a.m., as well as the horse fun show sponsored by the Redfield Saddle Club at 9. Following those events, the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn FFA will hold a Supreme Showmanship Contest at 10 in the show ring. At the same time, there will be remote-controlled car races near the entertainment plaza. At 1 p.m. the Bill Riley Talent Show will take place on the center stage. The winners will advance to the Iowa State Fair. The livestock auction will also be happening at 1 p.m. in the show ring.
The main event for today is the IAMO tractor and local stock pickup pull at the north track. Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for ages 6-12. Following the main event, there will be a fireworks show sponsored by the Dallas County Fair Board.
Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will broadcast live from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m today, playing music, relaying important information, and giving live fair results. You can also check out our fair coverage webpage at RaccoonValleyRadio.com.
