Perry Chamber Director Bob Wilson

A month from now, the Perry Chamber of Commerce will look quite different. That starts with the recent resignation of Chamber Director Bob Wilson.

Wilson, who has served as director since 2011, felt the time was right for him to have a change in scenery. “It’s been a really fun time in the Chamber. I am going to be sad to be moving on. You know, another job kind of has presented itself, and it’s something I feel really good for, and I really feel it’s the right fit for my family and myself. And that’s what it’s all about.”

Wilson has accepted a position in business development with Accujet in Perry. However, he will stay on for the next two weeks to help with the transition to his successor. He also plans to stay active in Chamber activities. “I’m not going anywhere, I still will be around the area. I plan on continuing to help and continue to promote, but now it’ll be even more fun. I’ll be on like the volunteer side.”

Wilson’s resignation isn’t the only change coming to the Chamber. They are also in the beginning stages of moving their office from City Hall to the Town and Craft Building, where they will oversee operations at the new coworking space. Wilson plans to be heavily involved in the move.
