Today officially commences the 2017 postseason for the ADM Tiger baseball team as they will be traveling to Harlan to square off against Heart Of Iowa conference opponent Greene County.

This would be the 5th Raccoon River Conference opponent the Rams have faced going 1-3 meanwhile this afternoon’s match up is the first time ADM has faced a Heart Of Iowa Conference team all season. While ADM resides in a tough conference themselves they will have to play pretty sharp against a Greene County team in a conference with three teams currently in the top ten rankings with 4th ranked Saydel, 7th ranked Gilbert, and 10th ranked North Polk. The Rams enter today’s contest winners of 6 out of their last 7 games. Greene County comes in with a team batting average of .283 with 95 RBI’s.

ADM comes into today’s contest looking to get back into the win column after dropping 4 out of their last 5 games although against some tough competition. ADM has faced the likes of Pella, Creston, class 4A’s Lewis Central, and the 8th ranked team in 2A, Van Meter in that time span. ADM has been aggressive and successful on the base paths this season especially in the past 5 match ups with 10 successful stolen bases out of 11 attempts. ADM will look to keep up the good work against non conference teams that has seen the Tigers earn 28 of their 55 extra base hits against non Raccoon River Conference opposition.

Greene County will be on the hunt for their third trip to the state tournament in school history meanwhile ADM will be looking for their 4th state tournament trip in school history. These two squads haven’t played each other very often in recent history, but the last time they did square off was in the 2010 postseason where ADM defeated the Rams by a 16-1 final.

ADM will look to recreate that for a win tonight and you can catch all the action on K107.9 FM starting with pregame coverage at 4:45 pm with first pitch at 5:00 pm.
