The new Acorns and Oaks Christian Daycare in Perry is holding a ribbon cutting and open house event on Thursday, July 27th.

The intergenerational daycare brings children and the elderly residents of the Perry Lutheran Home together for a unique growing experience, and the public can see it first-hand at the event. Chamber of Commerce Director Bob Wilson is excited for people to see Acorns and Oaks, as he feels it’s a great program. “Come and check this program out. It’s unlike anything Perry has right now. And that’s what’s always neat, is just continuing to innovate and bring in new things. And the Lutheran Home’s got a really good ability to do that.”

The event will be held at the Perry Lutheran Home’s main campus on Willis Avenue. Refreshments will be served from 8-9 a.m., with the ribbon cutting taking place at 8:30. The open house will run from 5:30-7 p.m., with a dedication ceremony at 6.
