If you were searching for a defensive showdown, last night’s game between ADM and Boone baseball provided just that with a contest comprised of four runs off of 10 combined hits.

Unfortunately for ADM in the second straight contest, they did not get a share of those 4 runs as just four Tiger hits could not push across a single run leading to a 4-0 defeat and being swept in the season series by Boone. Just four hits, no runs, and two errors for the Tigers on the night meanwhile on the mound ADM kept Boone to  just six hits however Boone was the more efficient team pushing across four runs on those six hits while suffering just two errors defensively.

Carson Benn started on the mound for ADM but after a three run first inning for Boone, the senior exited the game with just over an inning of work giving up three earned run off of just four hits, 2 walks, and no strikeouts. He will be credited with the loss meanwhile junior Dalton Hews came in relief and put in a more than solid outing going five innings strong and giving up just one earned run and connecting on four strikeouts with just one walk.

For the Toreadors, Dreasden Wilson would take the win and although the junior southpaw wasn’t necessarily overpowering with four strikeouts and one walk, he did manage to keep a solid hitting Tiger line up to no runs and their second scoreless defeat of the season.

Logan Crannell literally provided half the offense going 2-3 with two singles on the night meanwhile ADM’s other two hits came from Cody Osgood and Gage Fuller. Meanwhile multiple chances for ADM to strike were thwarted on the base paths as a pick off at first, thrown out stealing, and overrunning second base for the out erased some chances for ADM.

ADM now drops to 12-8 overall after starting the season 10-2. Meanwhile their hopes at a conference crown were hindered as their conference record now drops to 4-6 after loosing 4 out of the past five conference games. They have the night off tonight but will be back in action on the road tomorrow night in Bondurant, a game you can catch on K107.9 FM beginning with pregame coverage at 7:15 pm and first pitch at 7:30 pm.
