Although Relay for Life of Guthrie County has finished its most recent Relay event, they continue to offer support and resources to all those afflicted by cancer. Co-Event Coordinator Becky Peterson says she considers the fundraising to be a secondary goal of Relay.

“Fundraising is what I call a ‘side’ thing. What we really focus on is providing a supportive community and working towards a world where no one ever has to hear the words you have cancer again.”

Last weekend’s event raised over $50,000 towards cancer research.
