With the official release of each classes postseason brackets for Iowa High School softball yesterday, the ADM Lady Tigers officially have the blue print path to the state tournament.

Head coach Rick Dillinger and his Tiger softball squad will find themselves inside class 4A’s region 7 postseason bracket along with a field largely comprised of teams ADM has not faced this season. The field includes Marion, Cedar Rapids Xavier, Maquoketa, Grinnell, and 8th ranked Mount Pleasant.

ADM has not faced off against any one of the region 7 field throughout the 2017 regular season, in fact, the last time ADM softball has faced off against any one of region 7 field teams was back in the 2011 season when the Lady Tigers lost to Cedar Rapids Xavier in regular season play.

Mount Pleasant currently leads the entire field record wise with a 22-5 mark heading into the ladder half of the season. While the postseason officially begins with round one games on July 6th, ADM will join Mount Pleasant in receiving a first round bye. That means ADM will not only have a first round bye but will be at home when they start their postseason action Saturday July 8th against the round one winner of Cedar Rapids Xavier and Grinnell. Should ADM win that game they would advance onto the regional finals for the second straight season which would take place on July 11th.

As for ADM’s postseason begins with a round two match up in Adel on July 8th with first pitch set for 7:00 pm
