Perry Police Chief Eric Vaughn talking about charges in the Sabrina Ray case

A judge from Newton has been specially assigned to the trials of those accused of being involved in the death of a Perry teenager.

District Court Judge Terry Rickers will oversee the trials of Marc, Misty, and Justin Ray, and Carla and Josie Bousman. Each is facing several charges in connection to the May 12th death of 16-year-old Sabrina Ray, Marc and Misty’s adopted daughter, as well as charges related to two of her adopted sisters. Rickers was given the special assignment last Friday

Justin, Carla, and Josie each had their preliminary hearings on Monday. Their arraignments are scheduled for June 23rd. Additionally, Carla is scheduled to have a bond review hearing on June 16th. Marc and Misty will have their pretrial conference on July 28th, with their trials scheduled to commence on August 28th. They have both pleaded not guilty. All five are currently in custody at the Dallas County Jail. Justin is being held on $100,000 bond, the other four are each held on $1 million bond.
