Last night 12th ranked ADM softball was engaged in a non conference contest with Norwalk held at Tiger Field in Adel. Although ADM was able to match Norwalk with 7 hits apiece, the Lady Tigers could not recreate their win against the Lady Warriors from last year falling by the score of 4-1.

All in all ADM ended the night with that lone run off of 7 hits while playing one of their better games defensively with just one error, meanwhile leaving five runners on base. Norwalk on the other hand pushed across four runs off of seven hits, no errors while leaving 8 runners on base.

The game was actually held scoreless until the bottom of the fourth where Ashley Tennant broke the silence with a one run blast, her third home run of the season, giving ADM their one and only lead of the game. A bases loaded single in the top half of the fifth brought Norwalk the equalizer putting the game all tied at one. Abbie Hlas held down the Norwalk line up to just 4 hits with five strikeouts through the first six innings, and even though the Warriors put up just three hits in the seventh, they did manage to push across three runs grabbing a 4-1 lead. ADM could only muster one hit in the bottom of the seventh as they would unfortunately endure their 13th loss on the season.

Inside the circle Abbie Hlas would unfortunately endure her 13th loss of the season with a now 12-13 record. The freshmen tossed six strong innings only allowing one earned run off of 7 hits, just three walks, while recording her 10th contest with at least 6 strikeouts with exactly 6 last night.

ADM now rests at 17-13 overall and wielding a non conference record of 11-7. The Lady Tigers will be in Knoxville tonight with first pitch set to begin the game at 7:15 pm.
