The Perry Jayettes certainly took some steps to strike out cancer last night while at the same time striking out Saydel in non conference softball action defeating the Eagles 5-1.  Emma Olejniczak, who was presented a plaque celebrating her 1000 career strikeouts before the game, kept on rolling with another 15 strikeout performance.  The senior allowed 3 hits and 1 run.  Offensively, the Jayettes out hit the Eagles 7-3.  Olejniczak led the charge with a pair of RBI’s while Rachel Kinney finished 2-3.  Maddie West provided a late RBI as well.

Olejniczak has now struck out 199 batters this season in 116 innings pitched.  The senior and future UNI Panther was presented a 1000 strikeout plaque by Head Coach Tina Kenney and Activities Director Tom Lipovac prior to the start of the game.

The Jayettes wore pink in a unified effort to fight back against cancer.

Perry returns to the fields today with 2 games at the Roland Story Tournament.
