Home-State-Bank-FairA special event for a local cause is happening next week when WHO’s Tractor Ride comes to Greene County.

Home State Bank Marketing Coordinator Abby McConnell says they are sponsoring “A Reason to Ride” where each tractor rider will get to select a local agriculture organization to make a donation on Home State Bank’s behalf. McConnell says they are donating $0.05 per mile, per rider per day.

When each rider registers at Wild Rose Casino and Resorts in Jefferson on Sunday, they can designate whether they want to make a donation to the Greene County FFA Chapter, Greene County 4-H Foundation or the Greene County Fair Association. McConnell points out that youth from each organization will make a brief presentation to all of the riders at a Sunday night meeting to try and swayed their decision to donate to them. Home State Bank will also have a board with how many miles a rider has gone and how much money each organization has made during the ride.

McConnell adds that an average rider will travel 75-miles each day, so they are anticipating about $7,000-$8,000 will be donated to the local organizations. Following the ride, Home State Bank will present a check to each of the three organizations.

The tractor ride will be from Monday, June 26th through Wednesday, June 28th.
