Another game in the books and another contest where errors hurt the production of the ADM softball team as a four error night last night aided in a late game comeback by visiting Perry who defeated ADM 7-5 in 8 innings.

Each of ADM’s four errors in some fashion aided in two unearned runs for the Jayettes who came down from a 4-1 fifth inning deficit to plate 2 runs in the sixth inning and the equalizing 4th run in the top of the seventh. ADM would go 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 7th sending the game into extra innings where it would be all Perry who sent three more runs to the plate off a solo shot by Alyssa Kruger and and a two run blast by Adrianna Eastman. Abbie Hlas would help out her own cause with a double in the bottom of the 8th and later coming around to score on a passed ball, but beyond that it would take just four batters for Perry to acquire the final three outs and the win.

It was quite the pitching clinic inside the circle from both pitchers starting with Perry’s Emma Olejniczak who methodically mowed down 13 ADM batters while walking just two with merely one earned run. The four errors by ADM nearly masked the wonderful performance from freshmen Abbie Hlas who tossed an 8 strikeout night while walking just one batter and taking in 5 earned runs.

All three of ADM’s RBI’s on the night came from one swing of the bat from Kila Carbine who connected on her 4th home run of the season in the 4th inning. For Perry, they earned 5 RBI’s on the contest courtesy of two from Adrianna Eastman, two from Alyssa Kruger, and one from Johanna Diw.
