Early last week, former ADM softball standout Molly Jacobsen was awarded for a phenomenal season while playing for the Des Moines Area Community College softball team.

Earlier last week the freshmen standout Molly Jacobsen was awarded for her outstanding season receiving 5 of 8 first place votes for best player in the Iowa Community College Association. Jacobsen continued her dominance from the high school scene this season and officially ended her first college season doing her most damage inside the circle. Joacobsen compiled a 25-4 record and a 1.08 earned run average during the 2017 season. She finished third nationally in wins, second in earned run average and second in strikeouts with 273. Jacobsen was methodical each and every time out earning an average of 11.22 strikeouts a game through 170 and a third innings, allowing 38 runs, 28 earned runs, on 105 hits. She walked 37 batters and received five of the eight first-place votes for the best player in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).

Offensively Jacobsen was a menace as well connecting on a season batting average of .398 while slugging .670 in the process. She connected on 35 hits off 88 trips to the plate while striking for nine doubles and blasting 5 home runs en rout to dishing out 23 RBI’s.
