Not the outing that the ADM Tiger baseball team had hoped for last night as an early Carlisle lead and 6 Tiger errors would claim a win for the Wildcats 12-2.

ADM managed those two runs off of just five hits meanwhile last year’s conference champion Wildcats bats came out in full force connecting on 12 runs from 17 hits while suffering just one error.

ADM head coach Jason Book watched as the Wildcats put up a substantial early lead against the Tigers with six runs in the first and 3 runs in the second to put them up 9-0 after just two innings of action. ADM would strike back in the third inning off the bat of Dalton Hews who repeated his last year’s performance with a two run home run to right field. Those would unfortunately be the only runs ADM could muster while watching Carlisle cause an abbreviated game pushing across two runs in the third and one more in the fifth for the 10 run rule.

Dalton Hews not only brought home ADM’s only two runs in the contest, but he also tied Kade Overton for most ADM hits in the game with both combining for 4 out of the teams five hits. The other hit went to senior Jack O’Brien to round out the five hits but overall ADM would not be able to capitalize of five opportunities with runners in scoring position.

Dalton Hews took the mound for ADM and while the junior was roughed up by class 3A’s 4th ranked Carlisle line up, it was the plethora of errors that hurt the southpaw the most. Out of the 11 runs crossing the plate on Hew’s watch, only four were earned. The errors started right off the bat in the first inning which allowed five unearned Wildcat runs. Hews ended his time on the mound with just over three innings of work, giving up 14 hits but just 4 earned runs with two walks and two strikeouts.

ADM now drops their record to 10-6 overall while watching their conference record decrease to a now 3-5 mark. They will look to break the loosing skid with a weekend tournament tomorrow up against Clear Lake in game one beginning at 10:00 am while matched up against Sargent Bluff-Luton in game two beginning at 12:00 pm from Glenwood.
