Dallas Co Supervisors

For two weeks in a row, the Dallas County Supervisors have had discussions about the cleaning services for county buildings, and the topic will continue in the coming weeks.

The County currently employs FBG Cleaning, but the Board wanted to look at other possibilities for service. Five companies, including FBG, submitted proposals at the County’s request, each with various levels of cost. Three county employees, including Operations Administrator Rob Tietz, scored each of the five companies based on criteria from the Board. A company called Reliable scored the highest, particularly because their bid price was considerably lower than the other four.

However, Tietz also mentioned they could look into how much it would cost the county to employ their own cleaning employees. They could also use a cleaning service that employs people with disabilities, which would have other benefits. With all the information at hand, the Board wanted additional time to look at it, so the discussion was tabled for yet another week.
