It was a split night Tuesday between the ACGC Charger softball and baseball teams up against conference and county rival Panorama on the road.

The softball game came out well in ACGC’s favor as the Lady Chargers were able to erupt for 12 runs off of 11 RBI’s, 12 hits,  with three walks in a 12-2 win. Meanwhile the Chargers baseball team had a hard time offensively posting up just three hits in a 16-1 defeat to Panorama.

On the softball diamond the Lady Chargers managed to find every base offensively with six singles, four doubles, a triple by Savana Fuller, and a home run by sophomore Genevieve Hoover. Inside the circle Savana Fuller tossed quite the gem going just nine pitches over the minimum through six innings of work, giving up just two earned runs, walking none, and striking for seven strikeouts on the night.

On baseball diamond ACGC would have one of their roughest outings this season which started in the very first inning. After ACGC fired the games opening run, Panorama would answer and then some in the bottom of the first exploding for 10 runs to set the lead early at 10-1. The one run first would be all that ACGC could muster on the night meanwhile Panorama would tack on 4 more runs in the second while adding a few more insurance runs in the 3rd and 4th innings.

The loss for the Charger baseball team now brings their record to 3-8 meanwhile with the win, the Charger softball team draws closer to .500 with a 7-8 overall mark while 3-7 inside conference play. Both teams are back in action tonight at separate venues. The ACGC baseball squad will be entertaining a road contest at East Union beginning at 7:30 pm while the Charger softball team will commence with game action in Coon Rapids against the Lady Crusaders beginning at 5:30 pm this evening.
