We have new information regarding the house fire in Guthrie Center. 

About 12:30am Monday, emergency crews responded to a house fire in the 1000 block of Main Street. The fire destroyed the home. The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office and Department of Criminal Investigation have confirmed one person was critically injured and transported by air to Omaha, Nebraska, where they remain hospitalized.  Two other individuals died as a result of the fire and their positive identifications will be made during autopsies that will conducted later this week by the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner.

An investigation into the fire is being conducted by the Iowa State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, as well as the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol.
