The Raccoon River is at or above flood stage in a few areas in Greene, stretching down to Guthrie counties.

According to the US Army Corps of Engineers, as of Monday evening, the North Raccoon River near Perry was just above flood stage at 15-feet and 15-inches when the flood stage is 15-feet. The Middle Raccoon River near Bayard was also over flood stage of 14-feet at 14-feet and 11-inches. A feeder creek into the Raccoon River, Buttrick Creek near Grand Junction, was over flood stage this past weekend, but has since gone down by 0.78-feet to 11-feet and 69 inches, when flood stage is 12-feet.

Flooding on the Raccoon River was due to the overabundance of rainfall the listening area saw this past week. According to the National Weather Service in Des Moines, since last Wednesday, Perry received 2.29-inches of rain, while Guthrie Center recorded 3.48-inches.
