Back at it again are the members of the Panorama Panther boys golf team as they commence with the class 2A district golf meet.

The Panthers come off of a phenomenal start to the postseason landing a team score of 301 which marked the lowest team sectional score in 2A. Now the stakes become even higher with district play, although for the Panthers, they will find comfort playing at the oh so familiar Lake Panorama National golf course. On the other side of the equation, as Panorama head boys golf coach Hal Rossow told Raccoon Valley Radio, even the hometown team won’t be immune to the challenges of Lake Panorama National.

“As we have in past years we’ve hosted districts we challenge all the boys, we move the kids back to the blue tees. Anyone that’s familiar with Lake Panorama, there’s a big difference on about six to seven holes from the blue tees to the white tees so you’ve got to hit the ball a lot longer and it makes for different angles with the second shot. So even though we are the home team it is a challenge. It’s a tough course and whoever comes out of here will be ready to go for the state tournament,” explained coach Rossow.

The 5th ranked Panthers lay host to a highly competitive district field which includes the Shenandoah sectional winners 4th ranked Clarinda, 12th ranked Shenandoah, and Underwood. They will also be entertaining Pleasantville sectional winners PCM and Albia along with follow West Central Valley sectional member Des Moines Christian.

Panorama hosts their district field from Lake Panorama National beginning at 10:00 am this morning.
