For the fourth straight season the 2 time defending 2A champion Panorama boys golf team will grace the state tournament scene.

After acquiring the lowest sectional team score in all 2A, head coach Hal Rossow’s squad played lights out in the district tournament. It was held in the friendly confines of Lake Panorama National where the Panthers shot a first place round of 331. Clarinda was in a rather distant second striking a round of 355 with Shenandoah one stroke behind with a 356 to round out the top three.

Individually it was freshmen standout Kolby Shackelford to not only lead Panorama with his round of 77, but it led the entire meat earning top medalist on the day. Will Babcock was just a few strokes away from earning his 7th straight top medalist honors but fell into second with a 78. Fellow senior George Appelseth’s 18 hole rounded consisted of 81 followed by Mitch Wagler’s 95 to round out the top four. Dylan Douglass wound up with a 101 on the day while Trey Cobb sketched in a round of 110.

The Panthers occurred just five losses all season long and only once did they earn anything less than a first or second place finish.

The 5th ranked Panthers are poised to take class 2A’s crown for the third straight season from the Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge. Friday first tee off commences at 10:30 am with Saturday’s action set to tee of at 8:00 am.
