The Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation is currently on scene of a house fire in Guthrie Center.

About 12:30am Monday, emergency crews responded to a house fire in the 1000 block of Main Street. The fire destroyed the home and Guthrie County Sheriff Marty Arganbright has confirmed there was at least one fatality. Sheriff Arganbright has declined to comment further on the investigation, pending information due to be released from DCI later today.

DCI and the State Fire Marshall’s office is conducting the investigation.

The Guthrie Center and Panora Fire departments, Guthrie County Sheriff’s office, and Panora Ambulance and Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene.
