Tuesday night was the senior awards ceremony for the Greene County High School Class of 2017.
Various scholarships, awards and recognitions were given to the seniors at the high school auditorium. This year’s valedictorians are John Mobley IV, Emily Heupel and Hannah Stein. The salutatorian is Hannah Promes. Mobley was also recognized with the Iowa Governor’s Scholar Award for being the top academic achiever.
Several scholarships were given out, including school-related ones like the Greene County District School Foundation, student council, Greene County Education Association and Greene County Activity Boosters. Local organizations also gave scholarships, including Jefferson Rotary Club, Greene County Cattlemen’s Association, Jefferson Kiwanis Club, Grand Junction Lions Club, Greene County Pork Producers and several others.

The commencement ceremony for the seniors will be held this Sunday at 2pm at the middle school gym.
