ADM high school sprinter Keaton Kester won the 100 and 200 meter dash races at the Coed State Track & Field Championships for Class 3A girls Saturday at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Kester was clocked in 12.18 seconds in the 200, and she won by .16. It rained hard for a brief amount of time prior to the race, but there was no rain by the time the gun was fired. The 200 meters saw Kester set a Class 3A State Meet record of 24.72. She won the same two races in 1A for Earlham last year, now she wins both for ADM.

Kester anchored the Tigers in the 4 x 100 meter relay. to a fifth place finish in 50.42 seconds. Sydney Bergman, Josi Lineman, and Sam Schepers ran the first three legs.

Ogden senior Andrew Stumbo put on a late charge and won the 2A boys 1600 meter State title in 4:25.36 to nip the second place finisher by .07. Stumbo won the 3200 meter race on Thursday, which was Ogden’s first title in a running event at State. Stumbo is a State cross-country champion as well.

Kristin Culp of West Central Valley won the 2A girls’ 400 meter hurdles on Friday, so the area has five champions for the three days.

Perry’s highlight was the fourth place boys’ 4 x 400 meter relay that ran a season best time of 3:23.87 with Reece Dunlap, Brandon Kenyon, Rashon Ivory, and Adan Medina.

Wheelchair athlete Suzanne Shoemaker of West Central Valley was second four times on Saturday. She was the runner-up in the shot put, 100, 200, and 400 meter dashes.

2A Boys shuttle hurdle relay- Van Meter, 1:02.78 (Sam Thompson, Noah Hale, Owen Jones, Tyler Kubiak)

2A Girls 100 meter dash- Meagan Blomgren, Van Meter, :13.13, sixth, and Mackenzie Blomgren, Van Meter, 13.16, eighth

2A Girls 1500 meter run- Kate Crawford, ACGC, 4:52.88, seventh place

2A Boys 4 x 100 meter relay- Woodward Academy, :45.33 (Darnell Green, Royzell Henderson, Javontae McCray, Ruben Islas, seventh

The ADM girls had the highest team finish of area schools by finishing eighth in 3A with 25 points.
