Tonight will be the inaugural game of 2017 for the ADM Tiger softball squad as they not only open up their season but their home opener as well against Des Moines Roosevelt.

ADM fell just short of the big dance last year accumulating a record of 31-6. ADM was one of the better teams in all of class 4A resting with a batting average of .305, a slugging percentage of .445, and an on base mark of .390. Defensively ADM was stellar committing the 4th fewest errors in 4A. Pitching was the strong suit for the Lady Tigers last year leading 4A with a 0.99 ERA and holding opposing teams to a .127 batting average.

ADM enters 2017 with a strong roster but without a few of the key players from last years squad. The Lady Tigers will be without their ace inside the circle Molly Jacobsen who ended last season leading the entire state with 429 strike outs and an ERA of 0.80. ADM will also be without Jacobsen’s .389 batting average and 8 home runs but do retain the likes of RBI machine Ashley Tennant and her 27 RBI’s last year.

ADM begins their season tonight against the Lady Roughriders with first pitch at 7:30 pm
