The ADM girls golf team was battling more than just their opponents yesterday as they endured some dreary weather for the region 2 meet in Adel.

The meet was hosted by Bondurant-Farrar and included a 12 team field. Of those 12, nine teams were ranked inside the top 32 teams in all of class 4A including the 4th ranked Pella Lady Dutch. Regardless of the rankings, between the weather and the pin placement the course played quite tough. So tough in fact that there were only four birdies made all meet long meanwhile the meet held well over 300 double bogies.

To advance onto the state meet, teams would have to reside in the top two scores for the meet and individually golfers would have to end up in the top five lowest rounds. For the 21st ranked Lady Tigers, they came out pretty even on the day as although the team could not advance with an 8th place finish, senior Lindsay Lange will be making her second straight appearance at the state meet. The Lady Tigers as a team shot a 445 while Lange took home the meets 4th lowest 18 hole round with an 88.

Morgan Wagoner would end up second for the Lady Tigers with a round of 114 followed by Emily Neumann’s round of 120. Bailey normally followed Lange in the second spot most of the season but took fourth on the ADM roster yesterday striking a round of 123. Kaylee Wheeler rounded out ADM’s scoring with a 129.

As for the teams advancing from the regional 2 meet, Creston moves on with a second place score of 378 while Nevada won the meet with an 18 hole team score of 374.

As for Lange, her next stop is the class 4A state meet held May 30th-31st at the Elmwood Country Club in Marshalltown.
