The Greene County High School golf squads are in the middle of their seasons. Both teams play tomorrow, with the girls going to Dayton for the Southeast Valley tournament with Ogden, Glidden-Ralston, Woodward-Granger, and the host Jaguars. The boys play Friday at Story City vs. Roland-Story and North Polk (Alleman), followed by the Perry Invitational on Saturday.

Coach Heath Telleen’s girls continue to be led by 2016 Class 4A State tournament qualifier Rachael Danielson. She is averaging 45.33 strokes per nine holes. No other Greene County girl is averaging less than 25 strokes per nine hole round.

On the boys’ side, Coach Dave Destival’s team is led by the Block brothers. Elijah leads the way averaging 38.75 strokes per nine holes and Jadon is averaging 42.21.

Both Rams teams have lost more than they’ve won, but both squads are averaging fewer strokes per nine holes than in most recent seasons.
