carlos-hernandez-venturaA Perry man was recently sentenced to life in prison for killing three people.

According to court documents, 25 year-old Carlos Ventura-Hernandez was sentenced Friday to life in prison after being found guilty for three counts of first degree murder in Dallas County District Court.

He was convicted of the October 30, 2016 murders of his girlfriend 34 year-old Lourdes Flor De Leake and her daughter, 14 year-old Melany Elizabeth Barraza in their home at 802 6th Street in Perry on March 21st, along with the landlord 78 year-old Juan Jimanez Tejeda, who died a few days later from the injuries he sustained from a machete that Ventura-Hernandez used in the murders.

It was the first homicide in Perry since 1999.
