Christopher CliftonA Perry man was arrested at Wild Rose Casino Monday for drugs.

Jefferson Police Chief Mark Clouse says 56 year-old Christopher John Clifton is charged with a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for possession of methamphetamine.

Officers received a phone call from Wild Rose security staff around 10:30pm Monday about a baggy they recovered containing suspected narcotics. A slot machine attendant in the casino saw the baggy fall out of Clifton’s coat. The attendant then notified security and a security staff member went over to the location of the baggy, put her foot on it to cover it, and then talked to Clifton. The staff member then picked up the baggy and called police. Officers reviewed video surveillance and saw the baggy drop out of Clifton’s coat and onto the floor. Officers then conducted a field test of the material in the baggy and it tested positive for meth. The baggy will be sent to the criminalistics laboratory in Ankeny for further testing.
