Nicholas BalderasA Jefferson man faces a felony charge for an alleged domestic abuse incident.

Police Chief Mark Clouse says 25 year-old Nicholas Anthony Balderas is charged with a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense of domestic abuse assault, along with a probation violation charge.

The domestic abuse charge stems from an alleged incident that happened in the 600 block of North Wilson Avenue just before 6:30pm on Wednesday. The female victim’s mother called police following the incident. The suspect had fled the scene when the officers arrived. Clouse says there was physical evidence that an assault had taken place. Officers were then called back to the residence around 9:45pm when the suspect was in the residence and was eventually found hiding in a kitchen cabinet.

Balderas was booked and remains in the Greene County jail without bond on the probation violation charge.
