Work on phase two of Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School’s outdoor athletic improvement plan is set to begin with construction starting soon on the new stadium building.

The new facility will have men’s and women’s restrooms, a family restroom, concessions area and storage, ticket-taking area, and officials changing area. They will also improve handicap accessibility to the stadium with Americans with Disabilities Act compliance. The project is being financed by the statewide sales tax revenue ADM receives on an annual basis.

Phase one of the improvement plan — which included a new track, synthetic field, storage building, and scoreboard — is already getting use with track and soccer seasons in full swing. Phase one was the largest part of the master plan, and financing for that was also done through sales tax.

Phase three involves improvements to the baseball and softball complexes, though specific improvements and a timetable have not been determined.
