It was a rather solid start for the ADM girls soccer team yesterday as they opened up their weekend tournament with a win against a class 1A’s third ranked Gilbert by the final score 1-0.

It was a back and fourth battle all game long but ADM would win the close battle between the 10 yard line. Delaney Bertman had a nice pare of saves on the evening while great defensive footwork by the rest of the Lady Tiger defense kept the previously undefeated Gilbert team without many good opportunities at the goal.

ADM’s lone goal on the evening came from tag team of Sydney Bertman and Kylee Luther in the 29th minute of action. Bertman made a charge for the goal head on and while her attempt at the goal was unsuccessful, it acted perfectly as an assist for Luther who was the very alert recipient knocking in the open goal.

Both Lady Tiger teams walked into halftime with ADM up slightly 1-0 and through good defense both ways, that is how both teams would walk away from the game. The win gives ADM a 3-0 on the season as they now look to increase the win count by two with two games on the docket today.
