ADM

The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board passed a resolution at their April meeting that closes open enrollment for non-resident students for the next school year.

The decision came as a result of an enrollment projection that predicts the district will increase from 1,820 students this year to 2,380 students in 2021. ADM currently has more than 200 students open enrolled into the district, with numbers ranging from 10-25 students in each grade level. Other districts in central Iowa, such as Norwalk, have closed open enrollment because they are growing too fast within the district to accommodate students from outside as well.

The Board emphasized that students currently open enrolled into the district will be able to continue, as will any of their younger siblings. ADM does plan on building new facilities in the coming years in order to keep up with their growing student body.
