Just as was the case with the West Central Valley boys soccer team so too is the case for the girls participating in soccer itching to get back onto the competitive playing field.

The only slight difference for those Lady Wildcats involved in soccer is through an athletic sharing agreement, they will be joining Nodaway Valley and ACGC schools. Last season the three school team came together to become one of the toughest teams in class 1A ending their season with a 13-3 record and the 10th best ranking in the entire class.

This season, the Lady Wildcats involved will be a part of a team that is on the lookout to replace a good chunk of talent that ranked them sixth in class 1A in total shots on the season. The Lady Wolverines will have to replace the team leading 29 goals and 65 points from Hailey Gross last season along with a team leading 15 assists by Abby Miller. They do retain the skill of Josi Ocheltree who was second on the team in scoring while also retaining the skills at goal keeper from West Central Valley’s own Bailey Burris who accumulated 54 saves last season.

The list of Lady Wildcats on the roster includes Bailey Burris, Haylee Hunt, Joli Kunkie, Alexis Shelly, Abigail Spechinger, Rachel Urquhart and Laura Walker.

The Lady Wolverines will kick off practice on March 20th with the first match coming at home on April 3rd against Missouri Valley.
