Two new programs are starting up soon with the Perry Parks and Recreation Department.

Assistant Director Becky Halling says registrations are going on now for a couple of new programs for 8U through 12U softball and four to six year-old co-ed tee ball. Practices and games for tee ball will be in Perry, while practices for the softball league will be in Perry and games will be played in various locations including Perry. Games are scheduled from May through the beginning of June. Cost to participate in tee ball is $25. It is $40 for softball, $70 for two or more siblings or $80 for three or more siblings.

Halling says they are partnering with the Perry Girls Softball Association Board for the new programs.

“They come and approach us saying that they need help with them and helping out and I guess I’ve always wanted to help out with softball and playing obviously when I was younger through high school, I’ve always loved softball and I kind of always wanted to be a part of it and they approached us and asked if we would like to help.”
