2017 GCCF Grant RecipientsGreene County Community Foundation gave away $179,500 in grants to 23 projects on Monday night.

President Tom Wind says the projects range from $1,300 to over $27,000. There were six organizations that received over $10,000. The most money went to the City of Scranton’s project for replacing and upgrading playground equipment at the City Park. They were awarded $27,413.

Once the Community Foundation receives the applications, the 22-member board then deliberates on what projects they believe should receive funding. They require at least a 25-percent match. They help to fund projects that are under $35,000.

The Community Foundation receives their funding from Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation, the non-profit license holder for Wild Rose Casino.
