The Perry boys track team continues to get ready for the start of the outdoor season next week with the running of the Davis Relays.  Perry has competed in only one indoor meet this spring running at the Central Meet last weekend in Pella.  The Bluejays did not have many competitors entered and head coach Ben Coy says that number is no way indicative of what fans will see once the outdoor season opens up.

“Yeah, the indoor season is a tricky one for participation.  It always happens Spring Break week so my first order of business is always simply to find out who is going to be around.  The Indoors usually charge you a specific amount, say 10 dollars for each individual or they charge you a group rate of 100 dollars.  We usually end up with 8 to 12 kids competing and it’s just a good way to get the kids some competition and experience.”

The Raccoon Valley Radio Sports network will have much more on both the Bluejay and Jayette track teams as they lead up to the outdoor season.
