Funeral services for John Yarger, 95, of Massena, will be Thursday at 10:30 am at the Massena Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Massena Center Cemetery. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by the Anita American Legion Post 210. A luncheon will be held at the church following the services at the cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Steen Funeral Home in Massena. Family will be present from 5 pm to 7 pm. Memorials may be directed to the John Yarger Memorial Fund to be established by the family. Online condolences may be left for the family at steenfunerals.com. Survivors include: Sons, John Kent Yarger of Lincoln, Nebraska and Steve Yarger of Massena. 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Brother, Glen Yarger of Boone.

Registration starts at 7:00 am at the Scranton Community Center and roll out time is 8 a.m. There will be Trailer parking available at Landus Coop. Everyone is welcome to the Perry Public Library today for the Solar Eclipse event at noon. It will be held in the large meeting room of the library. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Joe Cerwinske, will speak about why this eclipse is special. There will be hands-on activity to aid in the understanding of the relative size between the sun, moon and earth, and how to safely view the solar eclipse. Special glasses will be provided.
