Jefferson Man Charged with Felony for Domestic Abuse

Michael HamiltonA Jefferson man faces a felony charge for an alleged domestic abuse incident.

Police Chief Mark Clouse says the victim called police at 8:43pm Saturday from the Casey’s General Store on East Lincoln Way about the alleged incident with her boyfriend that took place in the 400 block of East State Street. When officers arrived, they found physical evidence that supported her story. She was then instructed to stay at a family member’s residence.

Officers then arrested 39 year-old Michael Eugene Hamilton and charged him with a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for domestic abuse assault.

He was booked and released on his own recognizance from the Greene County jail.
