Tomorrow the ADM Lady Tiger track and field team will take their shot at the Central College meet in Pella as they wind down their indoor track season.

The meet will kick off at 10:00 am with the long jump, shot put, and high jump events. Of those three, ADM will be involved in the shot put event as Kaylyn Nordman will do the tossing for the Lady Tigers. The next event the Lady Tigers will be participating in will be the 60 meter dash prelims involving 8 ADM athletes headlined by Anna Kenny and Earlham transfer Keaton Kester who has has had a phenomenal start to her junior season.

The 60 meter hurdles will follow with the preliminary races and for the Lady Tigers Abigail Calligan will be the lone representative. The 1500 meter run will be the next event on the docket where veteran Ellie Mueller will be the only Lady Tiger involved.

ADM’s next participating event will be the 4 x 200 meter relay where the Lady Tigers will have three teams involved headlined by team A comprised of Anna Kenny, Sadie Juergens, Olivia Perkins, and Keaton Kester. Following the 4 x 200 will be the 400 meter dash where Anna Kenny, Sydney Manning, and Mikayla Klein will do the honors for ADM.

Keaton Kester will lead the field of 8 Lady Tigers into the 200 meter dash which will be followed by Sadie Juergens, Ellie Mueller, and Anna Kenny tackling the 800 meter run.

It will certainly be a competitive meet for the Lady Tigers and while head coach Bart Mueller doesn’t put too much weight on the indoor meets, they can be a great starting point as he told Raccoon Valley Radio.

“It’s indoors, you don’t wan to put too much weight on it but at least it gives you a starting point of here’s where we’re at and here’s who we go against,” explained coach Mueller. Coach further went on to use last year senior Maggie Bjustrom as a prime example of what the first few indoor meets can do.

“I look back at last year (with) Maggie Bjustrom really the Wartburg meet where she won the hurdles, by the way ended up going to Wartburg. That set her tone for the season that she won that meet while competing against competing against some of these girls who are the best in the state,” explained coach Mueller.
