The Sprint Medley relay has been an Iowa girls’ high school track & field event for many years. For the first time the boys will also run the 100-100-200-400 relay, and it will be the very first event on the track. Greene County High School returns three 2016 State Meet qualifiers (Logan Lansman, Chase Stoline, Nick Schroeder), all sprinters and relay runners, so the Sprint Medley may be just what the Rams ordered.

Dean Lansman is the head coach of the Greene County boys, and he talks about the new event. “It really looks like the 4 x 100 with the first two legs, then the 200, and then the 400 anchor. It’s a bang-bang race and it’s going to be really exciting. Throw that one in the mix as the first one out of the shoot and it really sets a good tempo for a meet with an exciting way to start.”

The Sprint Medley will debut on Monday, March 27 in Jefferson at Linduska Field during the Greene County Coed Early Bird Meet. Starting time is 4:30 p.m.
