Another monster season for Central College women’s basketball forward and former Perry Jayette Claire Marburger (sophomore, Perry) resulted in a spot on the D3hoops.com All-West Region first team Monday.

Marburger led the team in scoring (20.1 ppg) and rebounding (8.5 rpg) as she racked up seven double-doubles, including four in Iowa Conference action. She was named conference female athlete of the week on November 20 and December 11 after averaging 25.5 points per game during that stretch.

The school record holder for points in a season by a freshman, Marburger went over the 30-point mark four times in 2016-17, including a 30-point outburst in the season finale against Luther College. She’s amassed 906 points in two seasons for the Dutch.

Marburger was one of four Iowa Conference players listed on the three all-region teams, joining Wartburg College junior Katie Somner on the first team.
