The awards just keep on coming in for what has already been a phenomenal freshmen campaign for former ADM softball standout Molly Jacobsen.

The former Iowa high school 4A pitcher of the year and state strikeout leader has dominated the circle since day one and has been showered with various accolades ever since. That includes her most recent  honor as a selection to the NFCA Leadoff Classic All-Tournament team this past weekend in Columbus Georgia. Molly struck out a total of 19 batters, allowing just 9 hits and two walks.

All that adds to a fantastic season comprised of two consecutive Iowa Community College Athletic Conference division 2 softball pitcher of the week awards, two shut outs, and a 7-2 overall record. Jacobsen has been an absolute menace to opposing hitters tossing an average of 11.72 strike outs per game ranking her second nationally in the NJCAA Division two rankings. Along with the 7-2 record, Jacobsen has recorded a crazy low 1.07 ERA while allowing just 7 earned runs on no more than 24 hits with 15 walks.

Jacobsen and the rest of the DMACC softball squad will be in action today on the road in Creston Iowa taking on Southwestern with a 12:00 pm start time.
