The four girls that were State Meet competitors for the Greene County Rams last track & field season all return. That group is senior Olivia Hansen, juniors Megan Durbin and Laurin Lyons, and sophomore Melanie Doran. That quartet finished 14th at State in the Sprint Medley Relay. Durbin won the State title in Class 3A in the high jump, and also qualified in the 100 meter dash.

Doran talked about the returning athletes with State experience, as well as the newcomers. “The four girls that made it to State last year are all returning. We know we can make and we’ve grown, so I’m hoping we can make it again, so we’ll see how that goes. And we have some good freshmen coming in, too, that look pretty good. We’ll see if we can put them in some relays and get another one to State.

The Rams are scheduled to open the girls and boys seasons outdoors on Monday, March 27 in Jefferson at Linduska Field for the Greene County Early Bird Coed Meet starting at 4:30 p.m.
