Scam artists continue to use a variety of means to try and get money and from victims.
Dallas County Sheriff Chad Leonard says the Internal Revenue Service scam has become a common one in the area.
“If you get one of those phone calls or you get a message on your phone that it’s your final warning.  We’ve had victims go and pay this.  Do not pay it.  Give me a call or give the Sheriff’s office a call and record those phone numbers and stuff you’re getting those phone calls from and we will forward that on to the proper channels and try and stop it.”
