stuart cityThe Stuart Public Library Foundation will be holding a book sale for three days in April.

President Carol Brewer of the People Active for Library Service(PALS) organization, which supports the library, says all money from the sale will go to support the Foundation. Brewer says the annual library budget does not provide enough money for the library to purchase books. The library must spend approximately $1,000 a month on library materials to keep their inventory current.

“The library needs the support of the community in order to function properly. A library is more than just books. It offers a shared community space, programs for children and a wealth of electronic resources.”

The sale will be held April 6th from 1pm to 7pm, 7th from 1pm to 5pm and 8th from 9am to 12pm. Hard covers will be sold for $2, soft covers are $1, 25 cents for paperbacks, $5 for audio books and $1 for movies and CD’s. A special sale will be available to PALS members from 5pm to 7pm. Brewer says there is a variety of materials that everyone should be able to find something they would like.
