After a thrilling victory over conference rival Panorama last week, the West Central Valley Wildcat boys basketball team was engaged in a round two postseason match up in Carroll against 2nd ranked Kuemper-Catholic high school. It was a high scoring first quarter for both teams but unfortunately Kuemper Catholic wore down West Central Valley as the game went further, defeating the Wildcats 83-36.

The closest the Wildcats ever came to within striking distance of the Knights besides the beginning of the game was at the end of the first quarter where Kuemper-Catholic led 27-13. From there the Knights quickly took control jumping out to a 18-9 run in the second quarter to end the half up over the Wildcats 45-22. It would be a rough second half for the Wildcats both offensively and defensively after being outscored 38-14 in the final two quarters.

There were four Knights who gashed the Wildcats with 10+ points on the night led by Matt Dentlinger with 23 points on the night.

With the loss, the Wildcats officially bow out of the postseason and end their 2016-17 campaign with a record of 6-18.
