Greene County SheriffFrosty roads are to blame for a rollover accident east of Jefferson Tuesday.

According to the Greene County Sheriff’s office, at 8:37am deputies, Greene County Emergency Medical Services and the Jefferson Police and Fire departments responded to the crash at 235th Street and Parkland Avenue. Deeann Thompson was traveling west on 235th Street when she lost control of her 1999 Ford Ranger, due to the frost covered roads. She overcorrected and the Ranger hit the shoulder, overturned and came to rest on the driver’s side.

Crews were able to get the passenger, Dale Thompson out unharmed, while Deeann had to be extricated from the vehicle by removing the roof. Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident and were taken to Greene County Medical Center by Greene County EMS with possible injuries.

The Ford Ranger was a total loss.
