DSCN5466An overnight snowstorm brought messy road conditions in Greene County.

The Iowa Department of Transportation is reporting that state roads in the county are partially covered with snow Friday morning. Jefferson Public Works Director Dave Morlan tells Raccoon Valley Radio that City crews were out at 3:30 a.m. plowing streets. He says they have cleared the snow from curb to curb and the public can once again park their vehicles on the street. However, if it starts snowing again, vehicles must be removed or face a possible citation or the vehicle may be towed. Morlan adds that the streets have been sanded and crews will go back out later today if necessary.

The snowstorm has also cancelled school for both Greene County and Paton-Churdan School districts. P-C Principal Annie Smith says due to all the winter weather related cancellations, they will add at least two additional school days onto the end of the school calendar.
