For the first time this season, Greene County senior Trey Tucker enters a game as the individual scoring leader in Class 3A. Always among the scoring leaders, Tucker’s 24.0 average is now alone in first, just ahead of Atlantic senior Garrett Franken’s 23.9. ADM senior Tajen Ross is third at 23.1, so the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area has two of 3A’s top scorers.

Tucker and the Rams travel to Perry tonight to end the regular season with a non-conference game with the Blue Jays. The varsity contest is set for around 7:30 p.m. and can be heard on KG98, 1310 KDLS & 99.7 FM, and will be streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

Coach Chris Nelson’s Rams are 14-6 and winners in five of their last six games. The wins are the most for a Jefferson-based boys’ basketball team since the 2010-11 season. In addition to Tucker’s scoring, sophomore Trey Hinote is just over 16 points and game and junior Wade Adcock is a bit over 12 points per contest.

Perry senior Janier Puente leads his team in scoring at more than 17 per game, while Kyle Nevitt and Rashon Ivory also average double-digits. The Blue Jays have dropped their last three games and are 10-9 overall.
